US Marshals busted a pioneering TV executive today and held him for Mexican cops, who charged him with the cold-blooded murder of his wife.
One–time “Survivor” producer Bruce Beresford-Redman, 38, was nabbed at his home in tony Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., after a federal judge ordered the arrest.
The body of Beresford-Redman’s wife, Monica Burgos, was found on April 8, stuffed in a sewer near the Cancun hotel where they were vacationing.

The Story
Monica Burgo’s (Monica Beresford-Redman) went missing and was later found dead in a hotel in Cancun, Mexico, on what would have been her 42nd birthday. Her body was discovered in a drain one day after the couple were spotted arguing in the grounds of the luxury Moon Palace Hotel where the family had been staying. Read Story Here
Medical examinations revealed she had been strangled after being hit on the head. As Bruce, her husband – who produced top US show CBS TV ‘Survivor’ - faced up to likely extradition after being named the prime suspect by Mexican authorities, his wife’s family spoke out. There are many people in Los Angeles who grieve Burgos for her own achievements and heart.
Burgos was a Brazilian-native who owned the Zabumba Restaurant in West Los Angeles. For years, this establishment has offered to the Brazilian community great food and entertainment.

The sisters of a Los Angeles woman found dead in Cancun, Mexico, in April want the U.S. government to explain why her husband has not been arrested a month after Mexican prosecutors requested his extradition.

Monica Beresford-Redman case: Former ‘Survivor’ producer suspected in murder of wife
Bruce Beresford-Redman, a former producer on the CBS TV show ‘Survivor’ and MTV’s ‘Pimp My Ride,’ was detained by Mexican authorities last week in connection with the murder of his wife, Monica. Beresford-Redman was subsequently released, but is barred from leaving the country as officials investigate the crime.
The couple had been staying at the Moon Palace resort in Cancun when Monica went missing. Her body was found several days later in a resort sewer and authorities surmise Monica was murdered due to scratch marks on her neck, damage to her right temple, and signs of asphyxiation.
The couple’s children, ages 3 and 5, have been temporarily placed in the care of their grandparents.

Please don’t loose hope, don’t get discouraged sisters. Continue to do the good work your doing. You will be rewarded when the killer comes clean. It is long and hard, but OJ Simpson was jailed after a long while. Hopefully your situation will not take as long.

I was Mônica’s friend here in Brazil at school and the last time I meet Monica was when were 14 years old, but I remember her and her happiness. I’d like to help, but I don’t know how. Here in Brazil there’s no more comments about the case on TV or newspaper, but I think you might contact Brazilian’s authorities and midia, once Monica was borned here. In this year we have been noticiated about many cases, here in Brazil, of domestic violence against women; perhaps it’s a good moment to denounce the fact again, because it’s a case that concerns of international relationship. Justice needs to be pursued for Monica Burgos and her children. If Bruce is innocent, he should never have left Mexico. But having fled Mexico, and with a Mexican arrest warrant in effect, the United States should comply with the extradition request immediately. Celebrities should not enjoy rights that ordinary citizens of the United States would not receive in the same circumstance. Extradition NOW…it is the right thing to do!!! A human life has been taken. Take action as you would want done if it had been your mother. Comply with the extradition request and let him prove his innocence in the proper venue.

I can’t believe that there has not been, even the slightest hint of justice in this case! This poor family, those babies have had their mommy taken from them,the family has had to endure unbelievable pain and anguish by having their sister, daughter and friend murdered in cold blood by a calculating, vindictive,sick individual, who only wanted to serve his selfish needs and still does? Monica, I still cannot believe you are gone! I remember the first time we met. You and your sisters had recently opened Zabumba and Brazil had just won the World Cup. My partner and I were the two police officers that arrived that day to help you guy’s round up the crowd that had taken the party into the streets to celebrate the win. What a fun day!
We became good friends for years. My partner’s and I hung out at Zabumba nightly after our watch ended, and when you closed shop. You even taught me how to Samba…A pretty difficult task for a 6’2 250lb white guy with two left feet. It just seems like yesterday. You were such a good friend, and I really miss you!
Even though we didn’t speak for years after my early retirement, you were always be in my thoughts!
